Legally Blonde The Musical – Cancellation Notice

We are sorry to share that Legally Blonde The Musical, originally scheduled for May 1-10, 2020 has been cancelled. We hope to bring this “oh-my-god-you-guys” delightful show to a future season of City Circle, and we’re tremendously grateful to the volunteers and production team who have dedicated time and love to this story.

UPDATED AUDITION DATES – HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL

Audition dates for High School Musical have been moved to May 22, 23 & 24.  If you have already submitted a form, you will need to re-submit, listing your updated conflicts. AUDITIONS – Disney’s High School Musical Book by David Simpatico Music Adapted, Arranged and Produced by Bryan Louiselle Based on a Disney Channel Original Movie Written by Peter Barsocchini DIRECTED BY IAN ZAHREN This is City Circle’s annual teen musical and auditions are open to all Iowa teens who are currently in 8th-12th grades at the time of auditions.

City Circle seeking directors for the 2020-2021 Season.

Our season includes: Puffs by Matt Cox – September 25-27 and October 2-4, 2020 Elf: The Musical by Thomas Meehan, Bob Martin, Matthew Sklar and Chad Beguelin – December 4-6, 11-13, 2020 The Secret Garden: in Concert by Marcia Norman and Lucy Simon – February 12-14, 2021 Spring Awakening by Steven Sater and Duncan Sheik – April 30 – May 9, 2021 Monty Python’s Spamalot (teen show) by John DuPrez and Eric Idle – June 25-27, 2021 If you are interested in directing one of these shows, please submit an application by March 23, 2020.

City Circle Announces 2020-21 Season

City Circle Theatre Company is proud to announce its 2020-21 season. The season includes the play Puffs, a Potter-inspired comedy and spoof about secondary characters in a certain boy wizard’s world; Elf The Musical, the modern-day Christmas classic based on the beloved film; a concert version of the Tony Award winning musical The Secret Garden; the provocative, electrifying rock musical Spring Awakening; and the outrageous musical comedy; Spamalot for the annual teen show.

All in a Day Play Festival Moved to Feb. 1

The 9th All in a Day Play Festival sponsored by Dreamwell Theatre, Iowa City Community Theatre, and City Circle Theatre Company has been moved to Saturday, February 1 at 7:30pm at the Coralville Center for the Performing Arts. On Friday evening, January 31 a group of writers, directors and actors will come together to create six original plays.

Evita Auditions set for November 15 & 16

City Circle Theatre Company of Coralville will hold auditions for Evita on Friday, November 15 from 7pm to 10pm and Saturday, November 16 from 4:30pm to 7:30pm at the Community of Christ Church, 2121 S. Ridge Dr. in Coralville. Callbacks will be held Sunday, November 17 from 3pm to 6pm in Schwab Auditorium in the Coralville Public Library, 1401 5th St.
