City Circle Acting Company of Coralville will hold auditions for its teen production of The Mystery of Edwin Drood on Saturday, April 12 from 10 am to 5 pm at the Coralville Center for the Performing Arts at 1301 5th Street in Coralville. Callbacks will be Sunday, April 13, from 6 pm to 9 pm. The show is directed Patrick Du Laney.
The Mystery of Edwin Drood is a mystery musical full of adventure and rollicking fun where the audience gets to choose the ending. Based on the unfinished novel of Charles Dickens it was adapted by Tony-award winner Rupert Holmes.
This is City Circle’s annual teen production and students in grades 7-12 including current 6th graders and graduating seniors are eligible to audition.
Auditioners should bring 32 bars of a song of their choice and a short monologue preferably in a British dialect (either standard or cockney). An accompanist will be provided or auditioners may bring pre-recorded music for accompaniment. No a cappella singing please.
