Postponed: The Importance of Being Earnest

Dear City Circle Friends,

In this unusual season, we’ve been working hard at City Circle to tell stories safely, cautiously, and creatively. We hold ourselves to the highest safety standards above those required by public health authorities, and the safety of our production members is our first priority. When in doubt, we choose to preemptively close down rehearsals to protect our volunteers.

On November 5, a volunteer in The Importance of Being Earnest self-reported an exposure to an individual who has tested positive for COVID-19. This exposure occurred outside the volunteer’s involvement with City Circle. Our rehearsal precautions are designed to mitigate a situation like this. However, out of an abundance of caution, we immediately suspended rehearsals of The Importance of Being Earnest in accordance with the CCPA’s COVID action plan. We believe the safest course is the right one.

Consequently, performances of The Importance of Being Earnest will not be broadcast on the dates originally advertised. If possible, we may announce new dates for a streaming performance later in the season. All ticket-buyers will be contacted to have their tickets refunded or moved to other City Circle productions.

Thank you for being a part of our City Circle family. We appreciate your understanding as we work together to tell stories safely.

Thank you,
Evan Hilsabeck
