City Circle’s New Play Festival Set for September 16

City Circle Acting Company of Coralville will present its biennial New Play Festival on September 16 at 7:30 pm at the Coralville Center for the Performing Arts. The Festival includes nine original 10-minute plays created by authors with a strong Iowa connection: The Third Person by Dan Borengasser; Binged There, Done That by Ken Preuss; Yogafu by Alex Rubin; I, Phone by Tom Moran; I Have a Secret by Marsha Lee Sheiness; Guaranteed by James McLindon; Clipped by Jess Honovich; American Gothic by Allan Bates; and Tea Time by Elijah Jones.

Seeking Designers for the 2017-2018 Season!

City Circle Acting Company and Young Footliters Youth Theatre are seeking designers for the 2017-2018 season. Positions in set, lights, sound and costumes are available, and all local designers are welcome and encouraged to join our team! Many positions include an honorarium. We are a community-based theatre and love working with designers who are independent, volunteer-friendly, and flexible collaborators in making the show go on!

City Circle Seeking Plays for New Play Festival

City Circle Acting Company is seeking new, original unpublished plays for inclusion in its biannual New Play Festival. Any author is welcome to submit up to three original plays or musicals, but priority will be given to submissions that are: created by a local author or an author with strong Iowa ties to be performed with simple set, costume and technical demands approximately 10 minutes in length receiving their debut performance at this Festival The chosen plays will be performed as part of City Circle’s New Play Festival, September 16, 2017 at the Coralville Center for the Performing Arts.

Join us for our annual Change of Seasons Party on June 25

Join us for our annual Change of Seasons Celebration on Sunday, June 25 from 2pm-5pm at the Coralville Center for the Performing Arts. There will be food and drink and a chance to meet other CC friends and volunteers. We’ll celebrate the just completed 19th season with a musical and pictorial retrospective and preview our upcoming 20th anniversary season.

Don’t Miss the Wildly Miscast Cabaret Concert on June 24

City Circle is proud to present the  WILDLY MISCAST CABARET CONCERT directed by Chris Okiishi. The Cabaret will be an evening of song and performance by some of the area’s best artists performing things you would NEVER imagine they could do! The performance will be Saturday, June 24 at 7:00 pm at the Coralville Center for the Performing Arts.

Announcing our 2017-18 Season

City Circle Acting Company is proud and excited to announce our 20th anniversary season. In addition to our biannual New Play Festival, our 2017-18 season will include Peter and the Starcatcher, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Chess (concert version), Little Women, and Return to the Forbidden Planet (teen show).
