Shrek The Musical

Shrek The Musical, based on the Oscar-winning  2001 DreamWorks film  that started it all, brings the hilarious story of everyone’s favorite ogre to life on stage. In a faraway kingdom turned upside down, things get ugly when an unseemly ogre- not a handsome prince- shows up to rescue a feisty princess. Throw in a donkey who won’t shut up, a villain with a SHORT temper, a cookie with an attitude and over a dozen other fairy tale misfits, and you’ve got the kind of mess that calls for a real hero. Luckily, there’s one on hand…and his name is Shrek.

The Broadway production of the show received a total of twelve Drama Desk Awards and eight Tony Award nominations, including Best Musical.  Shrek The Musical is part romance, part twisted fairy tale and all irreverent fun for the whole family!

RENT

Re-live the sold out City Circle 2009 rock musical sensation, RENT! Presented as a special theatrical fundraising event, former cast members will unite to bring down the house in a concert version of the highly acclaimed Tony and Pulitzer Prize Award winner, with music and lyrics by Jonathan Larson based on Giacomo Puccini’s opera La Boheme. Rent is an inspiring story about friends and artists struggling in New York City’s East Village. It’s musical score shifting easily between pounding rock numbers and pop-style ballads, while tackling addiction, poverty, AIDS and most of all, love.

Spamalot

Winner of the 2005 Tony Award for Best Musical!  Monty Python’s Spamalot is a musical comedy lovingly ripped off from the classic film Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Telling the legendary tale of King Arthur and his knights of the Round Table, and featuring a bevy of beautiful show girls, not to mention cows, killer rabbits and French people, Monty Python’s Spamalot raises silliness to an art form!

Music by Eric Idle, John Du Prez, Neil Inne

Love, Loss, and What I Wore

Proving that a great show is always in fashion, Love, Loss, and What I Wore has become an international hit. With its compulsively entertaining subject matter, this intimate collection of stories celebrated an accomplished two-and-a-half year run in New York’s Westside Theatre. Based on the best seller by Ilene Beckerman as well as the recollections of the Ephron’s friends, the show uses clothing and accessories and the memories they trigger to tell funny and often poignant stories that all women can relate to–mother, prom dresses, mothers, buying bras, mothers, hating purses, and why we only wear black. “So funny and so powerful; so dear and sweet; so remindful of our female wiles, our worries, our insecurities, our remembrances of mother, father, sisters, brothers, lovers” WowOwow.com.

Written by Nora Ephron and Delia Ephron

Based on the book by Ilene Beckerman

Directed by Meg Dobbs

Jesus Christ Superstar

JesusChristSuperstar_poster6.aiJesus Christ Superstar, the ground breaking rock opera by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice, is based loosely on the Gospel’s account of the last week of Jesus’ life, as seen through the eyes of Judas Iscariot. Propelled by a stirring score, by turns driving and majestic, satirical and tender, Jesus Christ Superstar illuminates the transcendent power of the human spirit with a passion that goes straight to the heart
