An update on Coronavirus from the CCPA

March 11, 2020

Dear CCPA patrons, volunteers, and partners,

They say the show must go on, and we’re reaching out to you — our patrons and theatre family — to let you know how we’re proceeding. Your health is important to us, and we believe any theatre should be a safe space. Consistent with guidance from national and state health agencies, at this time our performances are continuing as planned. We are taking extra preventative measures in the theater, and we’re making our ticketing and refund policy more flexible to assist patrons who choose not to attend performances.

Our theater is owned and operated by the City of Coralville. The City of Coralville is actively monitoring the coronavirus (COVID-19) situation in the United States, in Iowa, and here in Johnson County. The situation is rapidly evolving, and we are relying on the most current information from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH) to direct our decisions and actions. Current information on coronavirus impact in Iowa can be found at: https://www.idph.iowa.gov/.

We will remain responsive to the recommendations and requirements from the CDC and IDPH. Our staff have the safety and well-being of guests, workers, and participants as our top priority. Following CDC recommendations, our staff are focused on disinfection of our facility, and extra hygiene measures for our patrons and participants. We are providing additional hand-sanitizing stations for patrons and participants. We are also halting playbill recycling and closely monitoring the health of all employees and participants. Employees or participants who report feeling unwell will be asked to remain home.

We advise patrons and participants to follow standard health precautions, such as consistent hand-washing, avoiding close contact with those who are sick, and covering coughs and sneezes. If you are feeling unwell, please don’t attend a performance! For City Circle, Young Footliters, and CCPA-produced events, you may receive a full refund prior to 48 hours of curtain time. If you need to cancel after that time, let our box office know and we can credit your account for a future CCPA performance. Refunds for events produced by third-party renters remain at the discretion of the renting organization.

Please feel free to reach us with questions or concerns. We are glad to have you in our theatre family, and we look forward to telling many more stories with you this season.

Yours sincerely,

Evan Hilsabeck
